Pro-freedom decry arrests

A delegations of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Wednesday visited the families of slain youth in Batamaloo area of Srinagar and south Kashmir’s Islamabad district to express solidarity with the bereaved families, a statement of JKLF issued here said.“The manner in which the three youth at Islamabad were killed by CRPF troops and police in a local’s house shows that they and those who support troops and police are terrorists,” the statement quoted JKLF vice chairman Advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat as saying.Bhat also ridiculed the demand of All Party Meet convened by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and also the CM’s statement that civilian killings in police and CRPF firing be probed. “Tufail’s cold blooded murder, Rafiq Bangroo’s death due to ruthless CRPF beating, killing of a 9-year-old boy in Delina and the killings at Batamaloo, Maisuma and Islamabad are before all of us. No one has been punished in the case of Machil fake encounter or killings of Inayat, Zahid or Wamiq Farooq. Whenever any killings takes place, government stages a drama of ordering inquiries and probes. The fact is that nothing comes out of them,” Bhat said.Bhat also condemned the arrest of hundreds of youth across the Valley and detention of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and other pro-freedom leaders.
