Kashmir not a border dispute: JKLF
Srinagar 17: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has asked India and Pakistan to accept Kashmiris as the principal party to the dispute and include Kashmiri leadership in talks and decision making vis-à-vis the longstanding issue.“Kashmir is neither the so called integral part of India nor the jugular vein of Pakistan. India and Pakistan should not think of Kashmir as a border dispute. It is a disputed territory whose real owners are only Kashmiris and it is ultimately their future which is at stake,” JKLF vice chairman Advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat said in a statement issued here.Bhat said Kashmiris have had to bear the brunt of hostility between the two countries with lakhs of Kashmirs sacrificing their lives for the solution of Kashmir issue. Referring to the stalemate in the talks between the two countries, he said, “Unfortunately all the hopes of peace amongst Kashmiris and the people of India and Pakistan have been dashed once again. The fact remains that peace in the subcontinent will remain a distant dream unless Kashmir dispute is resolved. It is imperative that India and Pakistan also consider the interests of Kashmiri people
